    Mitchell Robinson

With the insane shocker that he left Western Kentucky do we have a shot at him? What a weird time to just bolt.

No one is sure if he'll have to sit a year or not - he enrolled in summer classes and was attending them for 2 weeks.

If he's eligible right away you would think that we would have a good shot considering our thin front court, but my guess is the NCAA fucks him and he just plays in Europe for a year.

Is he one and done good? Going to Europe even if you get paid is a major culture shock and he'd get no exposure over there. Well we'll see soon enough I guess.

I think he has to get a special exemption from the NCAA to play this year.

From what i've heard of him, i'll pass. Lots of attitude issues and expected preferential treatment at WKU.

His godfather had a job at WKU, and that's what drove him there. But then his godfather got a better job @ UNC. Who knows what drove him to just clear all his stuff out at WKU.. If he did go overseas for a year, he'd be a 2nd round pick at best in the 2018 draft. So my thought is that he'll sit out a year. If he was eligible for this season, I'd take him in a heartbeat- we NEED some more depth up front. But if he's sitting out a year anyways, I'd rather see us go after other options.

He just needs a coach to put him in his place. Both Roy or Self won't put up with it.

Yeah this is a bad take.

You don't say no to the #1 ranked center in a class, ESPECIALLY when you're one injury away from starting Mitch Lightfoot at center.

Yeah, it's not like Bill is gonna let him be a prima donna at Kansas, or as DH said Roy at UNC

He should have never gone to WKU...kinda like Spike in Little Giants

    HA!! Nice analogy...

How about like Will Smith on Fresh Prince of Bel Aire when he played basketball for the school team? Carlton would get all pissed that he wouldn't pass and he was getting all the attention.

Woah...easy on banksy. He was on that other team for quite some time. He was just in the ducks district.

Ducks cheated. Flying V put the front man constantly offsides. The Hawks were the true hero of those movies.

I'm relatively certain the puck is passed ahead to the lead man before they hit the blue line.

5-Star transfer Mitchell Robinson just put a picture of him in a Kansas jersey on his Snapchat story. A sign that KU may be involved?

Speculation is that he's looking at LSU (he's from New Orleans); but I'm not sure there's more to that than it being his home town school. Him rocking a KU jersey on Snapchat is nothing but good news. I wouldn't get my hopes too far up; even if we get him, and I would consider that to be a very long shot at best, the next hurdle would be to get him eligible for this season (which would require a waiver by the NCAA). We need him for this season.

So he visited LSU yesterday and today; pretty much a done deal with him going to LSU. Oh well, here's to Garrett playing a point 4. I'm looking forward to seeing what the kid can do; he can rebound and pass and has a solid BBIQ.

According to Matt Scott of the Shiver, he is doing an unofficial visit this weekend to KU.

Who knows if they'll get him (EDIT: Or if he'd even be eligible to play this year as a transfer), but something I've learned in recent years when it comes to recruiting is that no one is ever truly unavailable until they're playing live games for someone else.

After careful analysis of all the options I have available to me, I believe that this upcoming Saturday I will be able to make a clear and concise decision as to where I would like to continue my basketball career.

    Jeff Goodman
    @GoodmanESPN

LSU no longer recruiting Mitchell Robinson, source told ESPN. Former Western Kentucky signee is set to visit Kansas this weekend.
    9:07 PM - Aug 10, 2017

Also according to the rumor mill he may not have been formally processed through WKU, which apparently means the dean can deny the application and it's like he never went to WKU at all. The dean is former KU vice chancellor Tim Caboni.

    Let the speculation begin!

Are he and Dok both centers and would Self start two centers? He might have to with that much talent I'd guess.

Former Western Kentucky commit Mitchell Robinson is expected to visit New Orleans today, per a source. Visited Kansas last weekend.

Well it was a nice little diversion in the slow days of summer, but looks like Robinson is probably a non factor at this point.

Self's quote on adding to the roster this year: “I would think that we probably won’t sign anybody,” Self said, not addressing the Robinson recruitment specifically in accordance with NCAA rules.
