Best relatively unknown songs from famous musicians

I know, there's already music thread, but I discovered a Bon Iver song I'd never heard today despite having listened to all of his albums multiple times, and was wondering how many other gems out there from great artists I hadn't discovered.

    Paul Simon--American Tune

P sure it's about immigration (but probably white European immigration, so it's safe for all to enjoy). Anyway, makes me feel proud.

That's actually a really popular song, sung by S&G in their post breakup concerts...

Are you sure you're not thinking of the S&G song "America"? The one Bernie used in his campaign? "American Tune" is not a S&G song--just a PS song. From his first solo album, I believe. I don't believe it is among his more recognizable songs. I hardly ever hear it anywhere.

    Check yo'self, foo.

And listen to the song. The poetry of Paul Simon is always worth the time.

You reminded me of another one. This is one of my favorite Paul Simon songs of all-time, but definitely not one of his bigger hits.

No, I know the difference. And maybe since I've known it since it came out, and they sang it when I saw them in '03, I assumed it wasn't "relatively unknown", but that's just my bias creeping in, I guess. Good selection!

I don't know if it's "relatively unknown" or not, but one of may dad's favorite Albums S&G Concert in Central Park, so I grew up listening to it, a lot. Actually, that album has become one of my favorite albums of all time. (If i could only listen to two albums the rest of my life, it would be The Concert in Central Park and Barenaked Ladies' album "Gordon")
