What in Frank Mason are you talking about? This post is as nonsensical as it is asinine.

I would guess he's referring to the fact that Oregon was ranked in the top 10 for nearly the whole year, won their conference regular season title, were runner ups in their conference tourney and yet you came to the conclusion they sucked after watching 2 games.

And that any team that loses a starter will take a few games to figure things out. Rhode Island and Michigan were the two hottest teams in the nation going into their games with Oregon and Oregon beat them.

    Clearly a poor team.

I still think we shit down our leg, just not at the total VCU level.

Ya, who would think watching a team's previous two games would be any indicator of how that team is playing? My gosh, stupid me.

It would be as silly as watching MSU and Purdue and coming away thinking we were by far and away the best team in college basketball and unbeatable.. Which, I'm sure you did because it's irrational.

Am I wrong? You picked a 2 game sample size and judged a team who had played 30+ games. I did the same thing, just the opposite end of the spectrum.

You are trying to make excuses to make yourself feel better about our loss. The simple truth is that we'd been playing our best basketball, with the NPOY and a top 3 pick, we were the #2 overall seed, playing in front of the biggest homecourt advantage I have ever seen since they have gone to a 64+ team tournament and we laid a fricking egg.

No I fully understand we lost. They scored more points than us. I'm not making excuses. I just happen to think that we lost to a pretty damn good team. You seem to think they're marginal, at best.

Yes, we should have won, but we didn't. That changes nothing about how I see Oregon as a team. I thought they were good before, and I think they're good after. And it changes nothing about how I see KU as a team. I thought they were good before, and I think they're good after.

Good teams sometimes lose to other good teams, that's a shocker. I know.

You must not watch a lot of Duke, UNC, or UCLA regional games.

Its sports. Anything can happen in sports. The Oregon loss doesn't mean we were bad or that Oregon was good. It means they played better than we played on that particular day.

Does it mean we "shit down our leg?" I'm not sure I'd put it that way, but .... we kinda did. We weren't hitting shots. I don't think that's Self's fault. Let's be honest, we could have lost a lot of games this year, but we were playing inferior (to Oregon) talent in the Big XII and were able to pull them out. I'm not sure we played a lot worse against Oregon than we have all year. We just were playing a better team than WVU, Baylor, ISU, KSU, et al. I think Oregon played better than they normally play (hitting 3's that they would not normally hit). But I think we played much better than we normally play in the first three games of the tournament, then reverted to our mean.

No. And not sure. Self commented on that, said that he's just taking his time but nothing's changed. Don't expect a miracle.

I think JJ wanted to let Mason have his moments collecting all of his POY awards, etc. - then he'll let it settle and probably announce this week. There is no rush for him.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Good theory, I like it. Green thumb.

I'm glad we got some transfers, but am i the only one who's worried about Newman. He didn't play well at Miss State and just because you're a highly ranked player from college does not mean you'll automatically be great in college. I don't know, i should probably also say i'm a worrier, both in sports and life.

Svi lacks the lateral mobility and quickness to effectively guard in the NBA. His only real option is overseas. He's young enough that staying another year won't really matter in the long run.

As close as he is to Graham, I thought for sure Svi would stick around. Oh well...

He still has time to come back. Hasn't hired an agent, he'll get til May 26th to decide which I believe is after the NBA Combine.

    Point on Josh:

He had his court date, might have wanted to get everything squared away with that before declaring. I don't know if it could have any impact, but as long as he isn't making income and is just a college student, he might not have to pay for all of it himself.

Just a theory, though. Don't quote me on that.

Technically if he declares he's still not making money.

If he declares, he's probably getting a loan from his agent.

Not an income though, which I read to be the basis of goon's argument.

Svi injured his ankle and withdrew from the combine. Obviously would love to have him back, but hate that it would be at the expense of his health.
