From PolitiFact: Researchers said that Chinas goals are "not ambitious enough to limit warming to below 2C, let alone the 1.5C limit in the Paris Agreement, unless other countries make much deeper reductions and comparably greater effort than China."

Remember when we had a FBI director? And an ambassador to the UK? And a ton of other empty positions in the government.

Sure was cool when we had an Executive branch.

P.S. - Donald golfed twice this weekend. Cause staffing the government isn't worth his time.

Or do you just think he's too busy golfing to name some cabinet members?

Explain to me why he can't name any person and get them confirmed? Last I checked, there was a GOP majority in the Senate.

Confirmation requires 3/5 of the Senate to overcome a filibuster as per current cloture rules. The Pubs don't have that super-majority. It would take a 2/3 vote to change the cloture rules for presidential nominees and the Pubs don't have that either. Every nominee that Trump puts up has had to go through this fight under the threat of filibuster. Leaving some cabinet posts unfilled and manned by folks in an "Acting" position allows him to temporarily circumvent the approval process and avoid this mess until it is politically advantageous to go through the full nomination/confirmation process. Trump is not an idiot; this is all calculated.

Is it broken? Or are we all the same? Based on the questions, I'm not surprised how far left I am, they were pretty extreme on the right...those sex questions were ridiculous at the end

This thing is geared toward UK so there may be some philosophical differences impacting the results.

But I'm pretty much exactly where I expected to be.

I went through the "test" pretty quickly, so if I had time to think about all of the implications, I might change some answers. Nonetheless, here's my chart....

    President Trump

This just goes to show how a fiscally conservative, socially liberal hawk like myself is actually a pragmatic centrist and only considered a racist Nazi by the liberal fascist wing nuts that now infest the Democrat Party. At least that's how I interpret this astrology cart...er...political test.

It's my understanding that one is only considered racist if the targets of your posts are actual humans and not something like jews or whatever.

That didn't take long......Warriors won't visit the white house

Wonder how often this will happen over the next four years

edit: Stated as a rumor, but I don't doubt the sentiment...based on things Kerr has said

This kind of stuff is beyond lame. We had a saying in the military: We salute the rank, not the man. They should go to the White House and respect the office; not the guy sitting in the chair. For some of these guys this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Sad that Kerr is such a little bitch.

I couldn't agree more. Beyond that, I hate that we live in an age where everything has become politicized and the political discourse has become so caustic that we can't shake somebody's hand or have a dinner with someone or even be in the same room as someone with a political opinion that differs from ours. I have no respect for that level of intolerance. To me, its no different than the silliness of renaming French Fries to America Fries because we "hated" the French.

I didn't vote for Trump and I think he's a moron, but if by some miracle I did something that would put me in a position to go to the White House and attend a ceremony where I would be honored and get a chance to meet him and shake his hand, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I'd be cordial about it.

I am torn on GSW's actions (and quite frankly, WGAF, it's a minuscule issue in the grand scheme of things).

I would generally agree with the idea of respecting the rank, not the man, but the election of Trump, and more importantly, his decorum (or lack thereof) in the office and in interactions with his political rivals is unprecedented. And, quite frankly, I think it has diminished the stature of the presidency to allow such a crude and ignorant man to hold the office.

Typically, yes, salute the office, not the man, but this man is doing a lot to damage the respectability of the office.

I personally would probably want to visit (just because it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing), but if I was a part of a team who voted not to visit, I wouldn't necessarily disagree with their motives and actions. Because I am not really a fan of what our democracy is turning into.

Geez, it's fucking basketball. They are only lowering themselves to the level that they believe he is at. If you can't walk into a room during a ceremony and be nice for 10 minutes, what does that say about you as a human being?

To your point... it's just a 10 minute visit that most of them have done before (and will probably have the chance to do again next year)... so maybe it's just not worth the hassle to them? And why is it a referendum on them as people if (for whatever reason) they don't want to visit?

It's really not that big of a deal one way or the other. There are more important things to be pissed about than whether or not a bunch of athletes want to visit with DJT or not.
